We’d like to introduce our Manager – Olek.

Olek joined us four months ago as an Engineering Manager. With a background in telecommunications engineering and extensive hands-on experience in software design, IT, and project management, he brings a strong technical and organizational perspective to his work at Addepto. His growing expertise in AI further strengthens our engineering leadership.

We interviewed him, asking seven questions to gain insights into Olek’s leadership style and experience working with his team at Addepto.

Meet Our Manager - Olek

1. What are the first three things that come to your mind when you think about working at Addepto?

When I think about Addepto, I see a team dedicated to solving complex customer challenges. Our work is built on three core elements:

Team – We operate in a highly specialized, tech-driven environment where combining diverse skills enables us to address complex challenges effectively.

Customer – Close collaboration allows us to deeply understand client needs and tailor our work to deliver meaningful value.

Solution – Every project demands thorough analysis, thoughtful technology choices, and precise execution, resulting in high-quality, unique outcomes.

2. What do you value most about the team you work with?

Competency and openness.

We operate in a very fast-developing environment, especially within AI, which brings new challenges every day. That’s why strong competencies are essential – we need the skills and knowledge to solve complex problems effectively.

At the same time, openness is just as important. None of us can tackle these challenges alone. Each person brings expertise in a different area, and by collaborating, sharing ideas, and learning from one another, we create real synergy.

3. What skills do you think are essential to thrive in your team?

Open-mindedness is crucial because we rarely have a standard method for solving problems. Since each project is different, team members need to be ready to research, explore new ideas, and approach challenges from fresh perspectives.

Equally important is flexibility, as every task brings a unique context, which means we must quickly adapt to new environments, requirements, and technologies.

Finally, determination to deliver is key, because beyond research and ideation, our work requires making decisions, staying pragmatic, and driving solutions to completion.

4. What advice would you give to someone considering joining your team?

If you’re thinking about joining our team, be ready for a lot of learning and a good dose of challenge in the best possible way. Every project is different and helps you grow, and you can always count on the team for support.

It’s worth developing skills in data science, machine learning, AI algorithms, large language models, and computer vision, because that’s the core of what we do. At the same time, your mindset matters just as much – staying open to new ideas, exploring unfamiliar problems, sharing your thoughts, and listening to feedback will help you adapt quickly and feel right at home.

5. How do you maintain good communication and foster development within the team?

We work mostly remotely, so regular interactions are essential – meeting online helps us stay connected and tackle complex topics more effectively. At the same time, we use different tools depending on the need: meetings for deeper discussions, communicators for quick updates, and collaboration platforms for shared work.

To support development, I encourage the team to look at the bigger picture and consider different perspectives. Comparing approaches and understanding the context behind each decision helps us grow and make better technical choices.

6. What do you enjoy most about working as a manager?

What I enjoy most about being a manager is having the chance to follow a project through its entire lifecycle – from the very beginning to the final result. I’m involved in both the technical side and the organizational aspects, and I really appreciate how these two areas complement each other.

Being able to guide the process, support the team, and watch the solution take shape step by step is incredibly rewarding. Seeing how an idea grows into something real and valuable is what gives me the most satisfaction in this role.

If you had your own mug with a quote or motto, what would it say?

Keep developing – there’s always more to discover.
